Lobster 101

Our highly trained captain and crew will work with your students to explore lobster anatomy, ecology and life cycle by getting up-close and personal with our lobsters through a hands-on experience. Students will help bring in a plankton net, watch the captain haul traps and then help sort the catch and collect data by measuring the size and determining the sex of each lobster and any other marine animals caught in the traps. We will also examine the lobster fishery and learn how scientists and harvesters are working to evaluate and conserve this population while maintaining a stable and valuable fishery.
